Privacy Policy
Effective 18 October 2026
- No account. No bank login. No sign-up of any kind.
- Everything you add stays on your phone. We never receive it.
- Receipts and screenshots you share with the app are read on your phone and never uploaded.
- No ads, no account, and nothing you add is ever sold or shared.
- One exception, explained below: Google's text-recognition component sends Google technical diagnostics about itself, never your items, images or their text.
This policy explains how the Due Radar app for Android ("Due Radar", "the app") handles your information. Due Radar is made by Umbra Labs ("we", "us").
1. Information you enter
You can add bills, subscriptions, free trials, documents (such as a passport or driver's license expiry date), warranties and tasks, with amounts, dates, notes and links. This information is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no server that stores it.
Please don't put sensitive numbers (such as full card numbers or passport numbers) in notes. The app doesn't need them.
2. Information we collect
We don't collect your information. Due Radar has no account system and no server that stores your information. Nothing you add reaches us. The app contains no advertising, no advertising ID, no location access, and no analytics of our own: we cannot see how you use it, and we receive no reports about you.
One component collects technical data for Google. The app includes Google's ML Kit text recognition so receipts can be read on your phone. As Google describes in its ML Kit data disclosure, that component sends Google device information, app information, a per-installation identifier and performance measurements, for diagnostics and to improve the component. It is encrypted in transit, it is not shared with anyone else, and it never includes your items, your images or the text found in them. We do not receive any of it. This is the only data collection in the app, and it is declared on the app's Data safety page on Google Play.
Ratings. Now and then, after you finish something, the app may ask Google Play to show its rating sheet. Google decides whether it appears. A rating or review you leave goes to Google Play under your Google account; we only see it as a public review on the listing.
Send feedback. If you tap Send feedback in Settings, your own email app opens a message to us. Below the space for your words it lists the app version, your phone's model and Android version, and the last few errors the app noted on your phone (where in the app it happened and the error's own message, never your items, amounts or notes). Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself, and you can read, change or delete any of it first. Otherwise the error notes stay on your phone, and only the last ten are kept.
Receipts, screenshots and messages you share
You can share a receipt, a screenshot, a photo of a bill, or the text of an email or message with Due Radar (or pick an image or paste text inside the app) to fill in a new item. Due Radar only sees the text or image you choose to share. It reads it on your phone to find the name, price and dates, and doesn't keep or upload the image or text.
Text in images is recognized on your phone by Google's ML Kit text recognition, which is built into the app and works offline. Your images and their text are not sent to Google or to us. As described in Google's ML Kit terms, the ML Kit component may send Google technical diagnostics and usage statistics about the component itself (for example, how long recognition took); this does not include your images or their text.
App updates and app settings
Due Radar checks our website (hosted on Google Firebase) for a newer version of the app's screens when you open it or return to it, and at most once every couple of minutes. If there is one, it downloads it and uses it the next time you leave and reopen the app. You can also pull down on the Radar screen to check straight away.
The app separately fetches a small settings file from the same website. It tells the app whether to show a short notice (for example, that an update is available) and the oldest app version that still works properly. Neither request contains anything about you or your items: they ask for a file and nothing more. Like any website, our hosting provider records standard technical details of such requests, such as the IP address and the time, in its own server logs.
3. Backups
If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include Due Radar's data file in your device backup so your items come back when you set up a new phone. That backup is created and stored by Google under your Google account and its privacy terms; we can't access it. You can turn Android backup off in your phone's settings.
The app also keeps a copy of your items on your own phone, in Documents › Due Radar: one a day while you use it, and the newest three are kept. These are ordinary files in your phone's storage, so they stay there even if you uninstall the app, and you can open, copy or delete them yourself with any file manager. Nothing is sent anywhere.
You can also save a backup file or export a spreadsheet (CSV) from the app, and once a week the app offers to send a copy somewhere of your choosing, such as Google Drive or email. Those files go wherever you send them, and the privacy terms of that service then apply.
4. Purchases
Due Radar Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. Google processes the payment. We don't receive your card or payment details. Google may share limited order information with us (such as an order number, the product bought and your country) so we can confirm the purchase and handle refunds. Google's own privacy policy applies to the payment.
5. Permissions the app uses
- Notifications: to show your reminders. You can turn them off any time.
- Alarms & reminders (optional): only if you turn on "On-time reminders", so reminders arrive at the exact time you set.
- Run at startup: so your reminders are set again after the phone restarts.
- Storage (Android 8, 9 and 10 only): to write the backup copies in Documents › Due Radar. It is asked for only on those versions of Android, only when you choose to turn the backup on, and never when the app first opens; Android 11 and later need no permission for it.
- Google Play billing: for the optional Pro purchase.
- Internet: to check for and download app updates, to fetch the small settings file described above, and, if you buy Pro, to confirm the purchase with Google Play.
Due Radar doesn't access your contacts, camera, microphone, location or bank accounts, and it never reads your messages. It does not look through your photos: it only sees a picture when you pick or share one. (On Android 8, 9 and 10 the storage permission above is wide by design — the app uses it only to write its own backup folder.) Links you save (for example a "cancel subscription" page) open in your web browser, and that website's own privacy policy applies.
6. Keeping or deleting your data
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. You can delete a single item, or everything, in Settings → Delete all data. Uninstalling the app removes the app's own storage, but not the copies in Documents › Due Radar, any backup file you saved or sent yourself, or an Android backup held by Google. Delete those with your file manager, or wherever you sent them, if you want every trace gone.
7. Children
Due Radar is meant for adults managing their own bills and documents. It is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we don't collect or hold your data, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. If you have any question or request, contact us and we'll answer.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app.
